Reprise Orchestra

Reprise Orchestra is a professional symphony orchestra based in Shanghai, uniting world-class musicians from Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Its members include principal players from renowned orchestras and accomplished performers from top conservatories, forming a multinational collective that enriches its artistic identity with diverse styles. Established in 2020, the orchestra has quickly gained recognition for its dynamic performances, versatility, and international outlook. With a mission to combine artistic excellence with innovation, Reprise Orchestra aspires to become one of the most competitive and forward-thinking symphony orchestras in China.

Known for its adaptability, the orchestra offers a variety of ensemble configurations, ranging from intimate duos and trios to chamber orchestras of 15–20 musicians and full symphonies of 45 to 80 players. This flexibility allows Reprise to tailor its format to excel in diverse settings and meet the unique demands of each project. Its repertoire spans a wide range of styles, from classical masterpieces, symphonies, operas, and ballets to contemporary, pop, rock, and electronic music, making it an ideal partner for concerts, festivals, competitions, and special events. Educational initiatives, including masterclasses, lectures, and specialized programs, further highlight the orchestra’s commitment to fostering the next generation of music enthusiasts and professionals.

The founder and Artistic Director, Oleg Sheremeta, is a Ukrainian conductor and flutist with a distinguished career in Europe and Asia. A former principal flutist of the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, he has collaborated with esteemed ensembles such as the Kyiv Symphony Orchestra, Ukrainian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Lviv Philharmonic, and Kunming International Philharmonic. Currently, he serves as the Deputy Head and Resident Conductor of the Shanghai Nine Trees Philharmonic. Since relocating to China in 2016, Oleg has played a pivotal role in developing and leading innovative music projects. His dedication to cross-cultural collaboration and artistic excellence has been instrumental in shaping Reprise Orchestra’s vision and success.

Principal Guest Conductor Gaddiel Dombrowner, a French-Israeli maestro, is celebrated for his dynamic artistry and contributions to both opera and symphonic music. A winner of numerous international conducting competitions, including the 2022 Koussevitzky Conducting Competition, he has led prominent orchestras such as the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, and Hong Kong Sinfonietta. Gaddiel’s expertise and passion for education, reflected in his masterclasses and mentorship programs, bring depth and inspiration to the orchestra’s projects.

Reprise Orchestra has undertaken nationwide tours and performed at many of China’s premier venues, including Beijing Concert Hall, Shanghai Concert Hall, Shanghai Oriental Art Center, Guangzhou Grand Theatre, Shenzhen Concert Hall, Harbin Concert Hall, Chongqing Grand Theatre, and Wuhan Qintai Music Hall, solidifying its reputation as a leading ensemble in the country. Beyond live performances, the orchestra regularly collaborates on numerous film and TV projects, significantly expanding its artistic reach. One of its proudest achievements is its contribution to the 2022 film Mission to Moscow. Additionally, the orchestra participates in studio recordings, providing music for CDs and soundtracks for TV shows, films, and video games.
