Talgar, a cellist from Kazakhstan, is known for his exceptional performances and strong dedication to music. He began his musical education at the Kazakh National University of Arts (2001-2015), then studied at Beijing Language and Culture University (2015-2016), and later earned a bachelor’s degree from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music (2016-2020). He is currently pursuing a master’s degree (2021-present).

As an experienced principal cellist and soloist, Talgar held key positions with the Eurasian Symphony Orchestra, the Kazakh State Symphony Orchestra, and the Astana Ballet Symphony Orchestra. He toured Europe with the ethno-folk ensemble “Turan,” performing at prestigious venues such as Salle Cortot in Paris, UNESCO headquarters, and Franz Liszt Hall in Geneva.
As a soloist, Talgar has showcased his interpretative depth in performances of major cello concertos, such as Dvorak’s Cello Concerto with the Astana Philharmonic Orchestra in April 2023 and Haydn’s Cello Concerto in D Major with the Shanghai Conservatory String Orchestra in December 2023.
Talgar is a versatile cellist who has explored various genres, including classical, pop, rock, and jazz, collaborating with renowned Kazakhstani artists. He has won several prestigious awards, including first place in the Chelyabinsk International String Competition, the Almaty National Performers Competition, and the “Astana-Merei” International Youth Performers Competition, along with third place in the Orenburg International Competition. His commitment to growth led him to attend master classes with renowned cellists such as Yo-Yo Ma and Jian Wang, and he has showcased his talent at major festivals, including the Shanghai International Cello Festival, Youth Music Culture Guangdong, and the Manhattan International Music Festival.
